DX
and Webinars” in August 2021.
The survey was conducted between June 30th and July 5th, targeting 369 male and female businesspeople from around the country in their 20s to over 50s.

Due to the spread of the new coronavirus, many companies have introduced telework, and business negotiations have become mainstream online. Additionally, with the increase in online work, corporate DX (Digital Transformation) is rapidly progressing, which is having a positive impact on post-corona work style reforms. In fact, in the “Latest Trends in Telework and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Policy Development” released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications last November, telework is seen as a trump card for work style reform. Additionally, as a future outlook, we conducted a survey on “corporate DX and webinars,” which are attracting attention because they encourage “flexible working styles that utilize ICT to make effective use of time and location.”
Approximately 60% of those who have changed their work style have introduced online meetings
According to this survey, about two out of three businesspeople (59.3%) who have changed their work style after the spread of the new coronavirus infection said that internal meetings and meetings have moved online. Additionally, approximately one in two respondents answered that telework had been introduced, indicating that the way they worked has changed significantly.
In addition, online events are becoming mainstream for business negotiations, presentations, and press conferences. Compared to face-to-face, respondents said “online is better” for business negotiations (69.4%) and presentations/press conferences (71.4%).
The most commonly cited reasons why online is better were “the ability to communicate with remote locations (67.5%)” and “the ability to reduce travel time (67.5%)”.

One in three people answered that their company’s DX is progressing! Half of them realized that the system was simplified
Regarding the question of whether the company’s DX is progressing, approximately one in three (41.2%) answered “it is progressing.” The increasing number of tasks completed online appears to have been a major factor in the expansion of DX. However, less than 5% of the respondents answered that they were making “very progress,” indicating that issues remain.
The most frequently asked question about why DX is not progressing was “I don’t know how to do it” (29.5%). This was followed by “company policy (27.6%).” We found that even if people feel there are benefits to DX, they avoid it due to lack of specialized knowledge or the hassle of implementing it. In order for DX to fully penetrate, it seems necessary to eliminate the “aversion” of companies.
Additionally, the most frequently cited positive impact of DX was “simplification of internal systems (55.3%).”
The most important thing to consider when hosting a webinar hosted by your company is the cost of hosting it.
The number one thing that they consider most important and the number one issue when it comes to webinars and online lectures is the cost. The cost is much lower than holding an event offline, but this is probably why the emphasis is on cost performance. It was also found that they considered issues that required specialized knowledge, such as “stable communication conditions” and “distribution know-how,” to be an issue.

Not only will DX expand during the coronavirus pandemic, but it is expected that the number of companies introducing DX will increase even after the coronavirus. A report by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry warns that “incomplete promotion of DX” will pose a major risk to companies from 2025 onwards, using the term “2025 cliff.” DX in companies has attracted a lot of attention during the coronavirus pandemic. We must keep an eye on DX as it changes along with society.
