A marketer whose profession is marketing. Some marketers are in their 20s and some are in their 50s. Some people may have been working in marketing since they first graduated, while others may have been assigned to a marketing department for the first time at the age of 40. In fact, I became a marketer at the age of 55. Until then, I had been working in media (advertisement) for more than 10 years, making proposals to marketers, but it was at the age of 55 that I changed jobs and was placed in a position to do marketing on the other side. Then, last year, when I turned 60, I started working again in the media business (planning sales and proposing advertisements to marketers). Thanks to you, I now enjoy working with many marketers in advertising work.

(Even after the age of 60) I enjoy working… In fact, this is the main point of this article, “Personal Branding.” No matter how old you are, having fun at work is a businessperson’s eternal goal (scope) unless they quit working. Scope is the events that must be accomplished in order to lead the project to success. Here, I would like to write about “personal branding” that will lead you to success in your life’s work projects, that is, to “enjoy working.” I would also like to touch on the fact that having fun at work = being successful at work.

“Personal branding” is a skill to obtain an environment and position where you can “enjoy working.” It is also a strategy for achieving that goal. So what exactly is “personal branding”? How can we define it and how can we achieve “personal branding”? In this column, we will explain the behavioral guidelines for learning how to prepare, how to think, prepare for work, and how to live your life.
This site (“MARKETRUNK”) is a vertical site for marketers. “Personal branding” itself is something that anyone can do, but here I would like to narrow down the scope and focus on “personal branding” as a marketer. I will touch on issues unique to marketers, but I think it will also be helpful to many business people, so I would be happy if people other than marketers read it as well.

Even if you just call it a marketer, there are many different positions, experiences, and abilities depending on the person. This also applies to jobs other than marketers. But there is one truth. This means that if you are an established individual, you can always be fair to society. The word “individual” literally means “individual” or “individuality,” meaning something that is unique. Being able to establish yourself as an individual and be fair to society means that you are not bound by society, or in other words, you are not bound by the company.

Here, one of our goals is to become a marketer who is not bound by society (the company) and can be fair to society (the company) by mastering personal branding. Personality is truly an “individual”, and establishing an “individuality” that no one else has is what leads to “branding”. This is the first step to “succeeding at work” and is an absolute prerequisite for “having fun at work.” No matter how much money you make, you can’t say you’ve achieved success if you’re doing a job you don’t enjoy. Being fair to the company and not giving in to others is important in order to have fun at work.
“MARKETRUNK” has many articles on how to succeed in marketing, what are effective marketing methods, etc. However, it is hard to find any articles about how to live a happy life as a marketer. The author, who is over 60 years old and is now happily working, looks back on that experience and would like to write a guidebook (column) that incorporates logical analysis and real experience. I will not discuss marketing techniques here. We will focus on the communication and lifestyle of marketers as business people. I hope that you will continue to read my articles in the future.
