
Yappli Co., Ltd., which provides the app platform “Yappli,” conducted a survey on the “work style” of the people in charge of operating the app. The survey period is from June 4th to June 12th, 2020. The company has released some of the results of a survey of 90 app operation staff who are its customers.

■More than 70% of people “feel positive effects” from app operation
According to this survey, when asked the question “Do you feel any positive effects from using the app?”, 26% answered “Very effective” and 47% “Effective.” 73% indicated that app operations had a positive impact.

■What is the actual working style of app managers?

When survey respondents were asked, “Are you a full-time app manager?”, 14% answered “full-time,” and 86% said “I work concurrently with other duties.” It was pointed out that the majority were working on app operations while also doing other work.
Additionally, when asked about the time that concurrent staff can spend on apps, 65% of respondents answered that they spend up to 20% of their overall work time.

Additionally, in response to the question, “Please tell me what problems you have with app operation,” the most common response was “We don’t have someone with specialized knowledge” (33%), followed by “We don’t have enough time.” 28% said it was not enough.

Furthermore, when asked, “Do you analyze your apps?”, 40% of respondents said they “analyzed” them, while 40% answered “not very well” or “not at all”. The company points out that the current situation is that it is not doing enough to analyze apps.
