Icons are also an element that influences the impression of an account, but since headers take up a larger area than icons, they have a greater impact on viewers. Choose an image that suits your image and make effective use of the header space.

If you do not set a header, it will be a plain light blue color as shown above. We don’t recommend leaving the header blank, especially when using X (formerly Twitter) commercially, as it can give the impression that no effort has been put into it. Let’s set an appropriate header image by referring to the method introduced in the next chapter.

Points to note when setting the header for X (old Twitter)

When setting the header image for X (formerly Twitter), please pay attention to the following points.

  1. Some parts of the image are cut off
  2. Beware of copyright infringement
  3. Use images that are highly visible on any device

I will explain each point.

Some parts of the image are cut off

When setting an image in a folder as a header image, if the size is large enough, the horizontal length will be automatically adjusted, so there will be no cutoff on the left or right. However, the top and bottom of the image will be set slightly smaller than the part set during editing, so some parts will be cut off.

Also, there is a semicircular cut-off in the area where the icon at the bottom left covers. When setting the image, keep in mind that there will be cutoffs at the top and bottom and the icon part, and be careful not to overlap key items, logos, etc. Especially when posting important information such as SNS account or campaign information in the header image, please place it in the center so that it does not get cut off.

Beware of copyright infringement

Use an original image for the header. Also, even if the image is original, be careful not to violate copyright, trademark rights, or portrait rights.

This is especially important when using X (formerly Twitter) as a corporate or brand account. Even if it is unintentional, violating copyrights, trademark rights, or portrait rights can cause a company to lose credibility.
