The theme is “NEXT HR – How to create a Japan that can compete on the world stage.” Under the difficult circumstances faced by Japanese companies, management and human resources will accelerate their transformation towards the future and create a Japan that can compete on the world stage. There was a heated discussion about how things should be.

What is HR Summit?
The HR Summit is one of Japan’s largest human resources forums, attended by HR managers, managers, and executives from small and medium-sized companies to major companies, and is also the flagship event sponsored by ProFuture.
Each time, we hold lectures and sessions by a variety of guests, including executives from large companies, human resources executives, and university professors.

The theme of “HR Summit 2020”
Every year, the HR Summit sets out themes that are necessary for future human resources.
Looking back at 2018 and 2019, the themes for each year were as follows.
The theme for 2018 is “NEXT HR ~Next-generation HR: Creation through collaboration~”
At HR Summit 2018, we advocated the creation of the next generation of human resources through various collaborations between government agencies and companies.
The theme for 2019 is “NEXT HR – How to create a Japan that can compete in the world”
At HR Summit 2019, in preparation for the world’s largest sporting event to be held in Tokyo, we raised issues from the field of HR in order to rebuild a Japan that can compete on the world stage.
The theme for 2020 is
“NEXT HR – “Future of Employment” x “Future of HR””

Representatives of Japanese management are talking about the end of lifetime employment, which was a symbolic practice in Japanese employment, and there is a trend of major changes in the mass hiring of new graduates. Big changes are about to come.
The ban on multiple jobs and side jobs will increase, encouraging the spread of new work styles such as double work and parallel careers.
The present era is truly a turning point in which a paradigm shift is occurring in employment, and the relationship between “companies” and “individuals” is undergoing a major change.
In order to accelerate the bold transformation of human resources toward the future, I would like to think together with you about the future that Japanese companies are heading towards.

On HR Pro, we asked personnel in the human resources department about the timing to start collecting information for the next fiscal year.
When we conducted a survey* of people in charge of each area, the most common response was “September to October,” so the HR Summit has been held in September since 2017.
